Here is a link to a very interesting government website called Ready.gov. In this section of the site, there is a sample emergency plan, which I think you will find very useful, and it might also make you ask yourself some uncomfortable questions. Who is going to do your payroll if you payroll person is out with the H1N1 virus? Your employees aren’t going to work for free! Even if your company isn’t directly affected by the virus, what if one of your primary suppliers is? Do you have an alternate means of getting “Widget A” or “Sprocket B” if your supplier is out of commission?
Check out this website, and review the sample plan. You’ll be glad you did.
Private Sector Webcast Training Announcement: “Infrastructure Protection: Awareness & Detection”

The training, “Infrastructure Protection: Awareness & Detection” will address topics relevant to current events, and universally cover Improvised Explosive Device (IED) Awareness, Homemade Explosives (HME), Surveillance Detection and Protective Measures, regardless of sector. The intent of the webcast, is to elevate ‘front line’ personnel awareness in the detection of pre-attack behavior and the characteristics of the terrorist attack cycle as it relates to the targeting of infrastructure – from the surveillance of facilities and operations, to the recognition of individual IED components and explosives.
Accounting for the difference in time zones, the webcast will be delivered at 10:00am and at 2:00pm (EST) on Friday, September 25, 2009.

Security Officer killed in Dallas today
Guard Killed in Bank Robbery

DALLAS – A bank robber shot and killed an armored car guard who was refilling a cash machine at a west Oak Cliff bank Friday morning.
The robbery happened at 9:40 a.m. at the Chase Bank in the 2500 block of Fort Worth Avenue at Bahama Drive, between between Hampton Road and Westmoreland Road.
